Santa and his crew flew around Ponderay and Kootenai for the 15th annual Santa Sack Project

Comments Off on Santa and his crew flew around Ponderay and Kootenai for the 15th annual Santa Sack Project

Thanks to the generous donations received from the residents and business owners of Ponderay and surrounding communities this year, Santa, Mrs. Clause and their elves with the help of the Ponderay Police Department, were able to deliver about 560 “Santa Sacks” on Saturday, December 15th, to community members this holiday season. The “Santa Sacks” contain a variety of items including toys, puzzles, books, hats, gloves, personal hygiene items and holiday treats. In all, about 500 sacks were prepared for children and 60 sacks for local senior citizens. Infant and toddle items were available as well.

History

The “Santa Sack” project, which has just wrapped up it’s 15th season, is organized each year by Ponderay city staff, city council members and community volunteers. ┬áDonations are collected annually which are used to purchase the many items that are distributed to the community through this project.
